Why I want to meet Violet Sharp
Because she lives in Cow Hamster, in the town where I went to kindergarten. And because she’s a bookworm. And I want her job. Not to mention that she’s a ravishing redhead…

Emily very kindly invited me to tea when I went to Washington DC.
No surprise to anyone who has read her entries on the 43 sites, or her blog – she is intelligent, warm, and articulate.
Too bad she lives in the other Washington! I’d like to have tea with her again some time.
I met C. “Hussein” Petersky today at Teaism, just 2 blocks from the White House, which we ignored. Unless I’m seriously psychotic, Petersky is definitely not imaginary; she is a flesh-and-blood, cool character. She challenged me to become a tea geek, and was right to warn me that my Assam was heavy-duty stuff – I’m still buzzing, four and a half hours later, but in a good way.
Speaking of buzzing, I was a little disappointed that she wasn’t wearing her painted-on bee costume, but unfortunately, if you really need to shmooze politicos in DC on a regular day without getting put in jail, it’s probably a good idea to bow to convention just a little bit. And besides, she looks good in a navy-blue suit, too!
Emily has been on my People list for what, more than a year? And she is still intriguing and just plain nifty. She likes Phil Ochs, bird-watching (Hey, Emily, you should visit Alaska…lots of birds here…), music, and has practical and not so practical goals peacefully coexisting.
I simply have to get to Washington some day and meet Emily! In addition to being a supporter of Stineglish (a very good quality), Emily is a really great online friend! I love reading her intelligent and fun entries, and she is always incredibly supportive. And she`s a great blogger. And I can`t thank her enough for her article ideas and encouragement for my writing! Oh, and she wants to be vegetarian!
Stine1, as represented in her avatars by the very bouncy Agatha and Cora, is great fun and a steadfast supporter of interweb friends around the world. She regularly regales us with the fruits of her imagination and her humor, and has even invented an exiting new dialect called Stineglish, of which several of us select few are dedicated students.
Emily, in short, sounds like an outstanding road trip companion. She finds things (and food) to appreciate wherever she goes. I mostly take my road trips alone, but I am hardly doctrinaire on this point.
Kayaking, harp-playing, teaching music, web-programming, writing ballet libretti – wow! Rusty’s protégée is doing it all. I am in awe!
